1. Start with a pixel-friendly image
Photos and illustrations with a clear outline and a distinct subject work best. Portraits, pets, logos, and simple cartoons usually retain their identity better than busy landscapes. Crop away distractions so the subject fills the frame.
2. Use the grid to manage detail
A 30–45 grid suits charms, keychains, and simple icons. A 48–64 grid is useful for characters and animals. Larger grids preserve more detail but use more beads and time, so begin in the middle and adjust after reviewing the result.
3. Turn the color list into a shopping list
The generator maps pixels to a consistent palette and counts each color. Check the color chart before buying materials. Screens, printers, and real beads vary, so test important skin tones or gradients with a few beads first.
4. Print, divide, and iron safely
Download the PNG with coordinates and color codes, then use the 5×5 guides to work through large designs in sections. Follow your bead brand’s material instructions and work on a flat heat-safe surface; children should craft with adult supervision.
